This flag football league is a non-contact sport! We will not tolerate any physical contact. Players who engage in physical contact will not be permitted to play! By physical contact we mean, blocking, tackling, jamming receivers and stiff arm moves. Please follow these simple directions, so we can have a safe and enjoyable league. The field officials have the final say on all rulings.

Offensive Penalties:
The defense will have the option to accept or decline any offensive penalty.
The following penalties called against the offense will result in a DEAD PLAY. The ball will be spotted at the original line of scrimmage.
The following penalties called against the offense will result in a 5 yard penalty & loss of down from the original line of scrimmage:
Defensive Penalties:
The offense will have the option to accept or decline any offensive penalty. Defensive penalties that occur during the extra point will result in the points being awarded to the offensive team.
The following penalties called against the defense will result in a five yard penalty from the original line of scrimmage and an automatic first down:
SWIPING OR SWATTING THE BALL
A defensive player can not swipe or swat the ball from the ball carrier or receiver. If the ball is dislodged, a 5 yard penalty will be added on to the play at the spot of the foul along with an automatic first down. If the ball was not dislodged, 5 yards will be added to the run at the spot where the player was downed, along with an automatic first down. If it occurs in behind the line of scrimmage, it will result in a 5 yard penalty and an automatic first down from the previous line of scrimmage
PASS INTERFERENCE
A defensive player cannot interfere with a receiver while the ball is in the air. This penalty will result in a five yard penalty and automatic first down or a spot foul and automatic first down, depending on the nature of the foul, as judged by the field official. If the penalty occurs in the end zone, and is judged by the official as a spot foul, then the ball will be placed on the one yard line and an automatic first down.
ROUGHING THE PASSER
A defensive player can not make contact with the quarterbacks arm at any time or knock the ball out of his hand. The rusher must play the flags. Depending on the nature of the contact in the judgment of the game official, the penalty will result in either a 5 or 15 yard penalty and an automatic first down.
INTERCEPTION RETURNS
If a penalty occurs on an interception return (called on the returning team), the penalty will be assessed from the spot of the interception. If a penalty occurs on an interception return (called on the team that threw the interception), the penalty will be assessed at the end of the run.
RUNNING OUT THE CLOCK
In the second half, if in the opinion of the referees, either team tries to run out the clock by taking penalties, the team can be called for unsportsmanlike conduct. (15 yards and automatic first down/loss of down)
